When we came together, our goal was to aspire to be the World’s Best Predictor of Company Headcount.
We lived the problem within companies whose revenue was dependent on the headcount of the customers served (i.e. seats, per employee per month fees, etc). The problem to solve was unpredictable revenue, missed forecasts, board meetings with incomplete data, and growth plans built on gut feel. We worked inside VC and PE-backed companies. We know what investors demand — predictability — and we know why most companies can’t deliver it.
What we discovered along the way — the headcount prediction is just the start
- The ingredients of an accurate headcount forecast turn out to be extraordinarily valuable on their own.
- To predict whether a company will grow or contract, you have to deeply understand it: its employees, industry dynamics, hiring patterns, talent pools, organizational structure, and growth drivers.
- We built that capability to power our forecasting engine. But once we were in market, customers kept finding new ways to use it.

The Minds Behind Clarecast
The Founding Team
Twenty-five years in employee benefits and insurance technology. Founded Next Generation Enrollment in 2004. Built it to 900+ clients. Sold to PlanSource in 2017 which sold to Vista Private Equity Partners in 2019. Became EVP of Strategic Partnerships, then Chief Strategy Officer.
Bradley understands headcount-dependent revenue. He built it at Next Generation Enrollment. Before that, he was a group sales rep at Unum.
He lived the problem: unpredictable revenue, investor pressure, forecasting without the right data. So he co-founded Clarecast.
Bradley has completed 10 Ironman triathlons.
Jonathan helped design and build industry-leading go-to-market solutions for 5,000+ field reps at Databricks, during Databricks growth to $100+B.
Before Databricks, Jonathan was helping build data solutions for Zendesk, luxury travel company Inspirato, and Delivery Hero in Germany.
Now he's building Clarecast.
PhD in Physics from Freie Universität Berlin. Research Fellow at Berkeley Lab and UC Berkeley, 2019–2022. Published 16+ papers. 400+ citations.
Senior Data Scientist at BASF. Built multiple award-winning generative AI and machine learning solutions to automate financial reporting at the world's largest chemical company.
Marvin builds the algorithms that power Clarecast's intelligence.
